The National Space Centre is an all-weather attraction for all the family, situated in the heart of the Midlands, located just two miles from Leicester city centre. Why not take a tour round the centre, or check out our special events and birthday parties for a full range of ideas to make your visit out of this world. The National Space Centre is the UK’s largest attraction dedicated to space exploration and space science. As such they have an amazing building filled with rockets, satellites, Martian surfaces and other amazing artefacts. The building also houses experts and a full Space Communications team.


What to do:

There are six interactive galleries to visit and over 150 hands-on challenges. As well as this the Iconic Rocket Tower as a must see and also the UK’s largest Planetarium. The Weather Pod is well worth a visit. Record your own Weather Report in the Weather Pod, and share it with your friends for the chance to win amazing prizes! Where to eat:

Round off your visit with a meal under our amazing rockets in Boosters restaurant. Serving a selection of freshly made and locally sourced sandwiches and snacks, as well as hot and cold drinks and our chef makes fresh soup every day.   • World Gin Day: 13 June 19:00 - 23:00 The National Space Centre is hosting an adults only Taste of Science evening dedicated to and celebrating gin!
  • Robin Ince and Guests: 19 June 19:00 - 23:00 Sony Gold Award winning comedian and science enthusiast, Robin Ince (Radio 4's Infinite Monkey Cage with Prof Brian Cox) is taking over the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium for one night only and is bringing his friends.
